THE HEALING POWER OF LAUGHTER

These are just a few quotes and facts I found interesting in the reading :

  • "You cannot feel depressed if you are laughing. You cannot get an ulcer while you are laughing. Laughter, even forced, can produce endorphins, and you become cheerful.

      Lendon Smith, M.D.
  • Endorphins are chemically related to opiates, such as morphine and heroin, and act to reduce pain and generate feelings of well-being. They are produced in the body to reduce stress and pain, but are also regarded as effective in contributing to a sense of euphoria.
  • People who can laugh at their own problems rise above the pit of self-pity; they begin to feel uplifted, encouraged, and imbued with a sense of power.
  • "He who laughs, lasts."
    Mary A. Poole, 1938

There's a bunch of great stuff here. It's a bold, brave project. By the time you reach the end of the paper, you will quite possibly have presented your readers with a potential role model of their own. Keep it up.

You've done a lot of very interesting work here. I'm eager to see how it all comes together in your presentation and paper. Remember to plan your organization carefully before you start writing.

your presentation was really touching. I think you have a lot of good research. I think you should in your paper but some focus on how at such a young age she had such an amazing affect on you I think that would be great to read. Good Luck!

I think this is really interesting information. My favorite is the first one because its cool to think that even if laughter is forced it can produce endorphins. Adding this to your paper will really strengthen it!
